I see some of that as too elaborate. Limiting the number of posts isn't good if the quality of the posts is bad.

I was envisioning this like the ignore function on Prodigy, where you would not get to see the posts at all. Someone suggested being able to see them on the list of posts, so you could see the first sentence, but not access them through Next or Previous. That's an interesting interface because you might still choose to select the post if it's listed when you're at the top of the board. I applaud that idea (being able to view and select the ignored person's posts from the list at the top of the forum), for it allows easy access to your censored material.

I'm an "interface" person. When I published software, it was the interface that was one reason that software won prizes.

I don't see one poster ignoring another as a big deal. Indeed I can see a benefit for the individual who chooses to ignore. If more posters opted to ignore we would have fewer flame wars. I believe the more significant issue is whether or not we want to facilitate a group of individuals desire to ignore a poster.
