She prolly thinks quiet diplomacy will be more effective, but less gratifying, than your solution.
No, she prolly doesn't think, period.

Anyway, there's a part of me that makes me think the refugee crisis was intentional, and that Honduras wants all of the refugees to flood the American labor markets and bring home some good hard currency.

Because ideally all of these refugees should leave and cleave from their former country. That means trying their darnedest to become and identify as AMERICANS. (Latin Americans, of course, but Americans nonetheless.)

But when the Honduras spokeshole expresses righteous indignation over someone who wanted to GTFO of his shithole country, it makes me think that the kid's goal was never to permanently leave Honduras.
