gee, the semi equipment manufacturers must LOVE this. let's see, amat, nvls, lrcx, etc., etc., take a bath so micron can rise in glory.

this is all bs. i don't think the imf can get down to this level of detail. i think greespan has much more pull than appleton. it is in the world econonies' best interest that korea, inc. be supported. yup, there will be some injustice in this, but i don't think the imf can start to get industry-specific.

time will tell.

This is such pipe dream. IMO there may be be a few unenforcable appeasement provisions for political reasons but their is no doubt that the money will be given and koreas chipmakers will benefit. To not fully fund will be more detrimental to many more then if funded. And to some how restrict use of funding will be impossible administer or enforce. Bottom line mu in BIG trouble to be whining and crying and begging and complaining to the extent that they have been carring on.
