A long, long time ago, ANCR mentioned their involvement in a project out here in Hollywood. Something about linking up different post production facilities and studios in a big ole network. We haven't heard anything about it in over a year.

Well, this week, MediaOne announced a new program called MediaOne Connect. Part of that program includes a network just for the Entertainment Industry, featuring "switched 270 Mbps uncompressed serial component digital video." Now, all the other parts of the MediaOne backbone explicitly state that they're ATM and SONET based. But this D-One network. . . what is it?

Maybe this'll help someone more technically savvy than I.

you can link through lots of different diagrams of their networks.

thanks to any and all,
