I really do not want to spam another thread or promote another thread, even if it is one I started. However, if you skip past the goofy stuff and BS on the Stock Swap Thread, you will see that we do discuss a good deal and variety of the semiconductor equipment stocks. Occasionally I have posted some lists of stocks I like and have even posted a mini list for what I believe to be good appreciation this year.

This thread is dedicated to LRCX and I feel I have possibly imposed over here. I would be happy to discuss this matter privately or over at Stock Swap such that we do not get off topic here.

Finally, one answer to your question is still related to LRCX. That is, CMP is going to take off like a bandit as time marches on. It will be used on poly layers, Damiscene, and the tradtional interlevel dielectrics and metallization. I cannot stress how wide open this area is for exploitation. CMP will be the hottest part of the technology sector next to DUV, 0.25u and 300mm. Being positioned in LRCX for its CMP cleaning components may be a good payoff for us all. I am divested of LRCX stock now, hoping for a retracement and a lower entry price to grt back in. The Ontrak acquisition was a solid move for both the technology an the leadership it borught to LRCX. This will reap benefits within the next 1-3 years.
