If it was only a couple of weeks ago, and if you used a
credit card, and if you live in PA (or the state where
you bought it if it was over the line in Ohio), or if
it was within 50 miles of your home, don't post;
make a documented effort to get satisfaction from your
seller. If you can document a good faith effort to get
satisfaction, and you didn't, you can refuse to pay the
credit card bill. Your credit card company will charge
it back to the seller.

If you've tried to get satisfaction and haven't, send
a certified letter to your vendor explaining your problem
Send a copy of the letter to your credit card company
along with the documentation required (which you will
find on your credit card bill). Tell them the charge is
pending resolution of your good-faith efforts to resolve
your consumer complaints and that you're not paying the
charge till that is resolved.

You can also call your credit card's customer service
number(should be 800), but do that in ADDITION to, not
instead of, sending your explanation in writing.
Send it certified mail with return receipt, both to
the vendor and to your credit card company. Keep the
receipts.

Jerry: Sorry to hear about your troubles with the Brand-X PC. You can try Micron,Gateway,HP or even IBM thread. Or you can go to the newsgroup called mis.invest.stocks,this one has pretty good traffic,come to think of it this NG may be the place to gripe.

So which one didya buy??? We won't tell anyone. <gg>

PS: you can also file a complaint to the Better Business Bureau or even file a complaint with the state attorney general's office or how about this, take them to small claims court.
