Wharfie,
Universities can't afford to fake the studies people like you claim they fake.
Yes they can. In fact, they thrive on it.

Researchers are judged by the number of papers they can publish, rather than the accuracy or reproducibility of their work.

It's even better if one of their papers end up going viral on social media, or cited by politicians who fOlLoW tHe sCiEnCe and craft legislation based on it.

No one bothers to question the accuracy of the research paper, because if the paper is wrong and bad legislation is passed as a result, no one is going to blame the research. Instead, the blame ALWAYS shifts to the usual excuses.

"Oh it didn't work because it didn't go far enough."

"Oh it didn't work because of external factors."

"Oh it didn't work because rAyGuN."

Think Big Pharma can afford for their research to be wrong? Not a chance. They would be drained of all their cash on hand if they were caught faking the research, and that led to death tolls that the Q Continuum constantly insist is being "covered up."
