re Data Center. Elroy, I think you are right. There is a shift to move to GPU for data center applications away from CPU’s. There are several reasons for this - a data center nowadays does not just storage data, they los do a lot of computing and GPU’s are better at this.
AI is a very Computing intense application and adds to this trend. NVDA has chips that hit on both trends and INTC the current data center leader is likely to continue losing market share.

I am fairly sure that AI is a Bubble and these specialized AI chips sell for enormous prices in some cases, because apparently there is a boom post ChatGPT and a lot of funding for startups etc.

The application is real but at this point investing in almost anything based on AI seems to be an iffy undertaking. Better to wait for a year or two until things settle and it becomes clear how many real business evolves from this and stock prices come down as the market has moved to the next big thing.

RE: Generative AI

Lots of development is being done 'at the edge' for generative AI. This is due to the increasing power and efficiency of mobile processors, the increasing availability of 5G networks, and the development of new generative AI models that are specifically designed for mobile devices.

I am thinking more of this generative AI will move away from the centralized datacenter and to the 'edge' w/ much of the computing done in the mobile devise. The potential applications of generative AI at the edge are vast. As the technology continues to develop, we can expect to see even more innovative and groundbreaking applications emerge.

These models are often smaller and more efficient than traditional generative AI models, which makes them more suitable for running on mobile devices.
----------------------------------------------

It will be interesting to see how this develops. I see it similar to the development of the PC in the 80's and even the internet in the late 90's.
