Interestingly, while there are exceptions, it is often that the thing that has that "sweet low price" ends up being far more expensive than the more expensive item! (lower quality, needs replacement more often, etc). A reason I rarely go to the "Dollar Store" - most items are too expensive! As to Apple, I only recently replaced my personal iPhone 5 with a new model - only reason is that my carrier was phasing in "5g" and phasing out the other "g", so I attribute it to "g" forces!
