Three years ago I had an order cancelled six weeks after I bought. NDB said it was all the market maker's doing but, after a short correspondence and a series of corrections, re-corrections, and re-re-corrections, I kept a $1,300 profit at their expense. (On another more recent occasion NDB's automated telephone was on the fritz. In effect, I was several minutes late on a sell order for a CCSI trade and it cost me a couple of K. I made an immediate complaining phone call and NDB gave me the higher sell price, eating the loss themselves. The virtually exact thing happened around that time with a sale in a Schwab account. After weeks of letters, phone calls, and e-mails, Schwab, in effect, said tough luck, pal, and merely covered my commission. Their fault but my loss.)
