hey scrapps. thank you for the links; i appreciate your helpfulness. i know scott from the zenith thread... these new options are great, and you are right, they are affordable. clearly, it is options like these that brought us to this thread. maybe i am not grasping the totality here: i thought the article was addressing the weakness of the backbone, the intranet limitations, which, if left unaddressed, would render moot any upgraded online ability we could access, cable modem to isdn to dsl. in other words, where the infrastructure breaks down is in its interrelatedness, not our connection dynamic, so that any speed gains are lost when hitting the wall of internet inefficiency. help?
