Agree. The problem is it takes years to understand all the side effects of medications. There's likely tons of possibilities that are never even looked into. Take your example. Though it is known that there is a strong genetic link to schizophrenia, there's often also environmental factors involved. In your example, they mention amphetamines. What dosages? Would taking a mild close substitute qualify, especially if over a spread out timeframe such as taking pseudoephedrine for a cold every few years? I doubt there's funding or the ability to accurately track something like that.
What damage is being done with minor EMP from electric circuits, satellite/cellphone/WAN? What improvement will we see since we advanced from tube TV to LED? Tube TVs were just big ray guns. We may find that it was like leaded gasoline affecting behavior like AJ pointed out a while back.
We know plastics were leaching chemicals into us. Each "advance" likely has unknown issues that could take a generation to discover if we even manage to connect the dots at all.
Everyone talks about farm chemicals but few talk about ranching. We use numerous weed control chemicals for pasture maintenance. Even "natural" pasture has unknowns. I often wonder about endophyte toxicosis from fescue fields and Johnson grass in drought or wet conditions. Most pastures were converted to fescue instead of native grasses because they hold up better to trampling and can be hayed twice a year vs a single cutting. However it can cause cattle to be less heat tolerant and other issues. It seems to me that these enzymes "might" be stored and consumed by us. I don't know and never really looked into it. The information may not be available, especially if the beef industry doesn't want it studied.
Mercury in fish, contaminants in fruits and vegetables. You wouldn't eat a grape or drink wine if you knew the chemicals it takes to keep the insects from destroying them. They have to use filter systems on the tractors so the drivers aren't exposed to the fumes they're so toxic.
That reminds me, I need to go out and spot spray my fields. I have multiflora rose and pigweed I spotted yesterday. ;^)
