500 protesters? your math sucks Boney and the ones who went to jail were not only protesting they were trying to stop the transition of power, you don't get 18 years in jail for a protest unless you're in Russia

You need to learn to read Bonefish. The key word is "attempt" not "could," as you say.

Attempted murder is a felony, punishable by a hefty prison term, regardless of whether the attempt is successful or not. .
