"have they begun producing EIDE versions?"

They started making EIDE Syjets a few months after the SCSI came out.

Jazz 2 rolls out and price cuts

news.com

Note: the article mentions that Iomega has a cost disadvantage on their Jazz drives. That's why Syquest can beat them in pricing here.

The Syjet is available in scsi, eide, and parallel flavors. The Jazz as far as I know is only available as scsi or parallel (the parallel being the same unit with a scsi adaptor).

I sense with the imminent rollout of HiDensity floppy from Sony could spell the end of Iomega's cash cow zips. Love those zips but for almost the same price at 200 mb , plus able to read 3.5 floppies and faster speeds. (Apparently beta versions allow you to play a mpeg) these are definitely going to make the Zip drive look like a buick.
