ROY, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 13, 1998-- New Jaz 2G High-Performance Storage Solution Sets Industry Standard in Reliability and Speed
Extending its leadership in removable storage solutions, Iomega Corporation (NYSE:IOM) began U.S. shipments of Jaz(R) 2GB drives and 2GB disks -- a two-gigabyte (GB) high-performance storage solution offering high capacity, flexibility and the highest performance available to the market to meet the toughest demands of today's cutting-edge power users. The Jaz 2GB drive and 2GB disks are an extension of the acclaimed Jaz family of removable storage products which have earned endorsements from top PC manufacturers, awards from multiple publications and have been purchased by more than 1 million customers. Jaz 2GB drives are also compatible with Jaz 1GB disks, protecting the investment in millions of Jaz disks. The Jaz 2GB drives and 2GB disks exceeds the performance of other removable storage products in its class by operating at an impressive maximum sustained transfer rate of 8.7 megabytes (MB) per second -- fast enough to deliver full-screen, full-motion video. The Jaz 2GB drive, which includes a complete software suite, provides twice the capacity and up to 40 percent higher performance than the original Jaz 1GB drive for desktop and mobile computing. Customers can expect shortly to be able to purchase Jaz 2GB drives and 2GB disks through mail order, computer superstores, distributors and resellers for a minimum advertised price in the U.S. of $649 for the external model and $549 for the internal model, with Jaz disks priced at $149 each when purchased in a 3-pak. Jaz 2GB drives and 2GB disks are expected to be available internationally in early March. "With an installed base of over 1 million drives, Jaz drives and disks have set the standard in the high-end segment of the removable storage market," said Fred Forsyth, president of Iomega's Professional Products Division. "Jaz 2GB promises to be the ideal capacity for the next generation of customer needs -- taking into consideration the advancement of audio/video creation applications -- making the Jaz family the premium solution for professional computer users." Jaz 2GB disks provide the ultimate storage solution for professionals in the graphic design, desktop publishing, multimedia, CAD/CAM, audio and video markets that need hard drive expansion combined with high-performance, portability and compatibility with a wide range of service bureaus. Jaz 2GB drives and 2GB disks enable users to create, store, catalog and share large files, such as space-consuming scans; entire web sites; digital movies, sounds and photos; large graphic files; and databases on a single Jaz 2GB disk.

Jaz 2GB's Key Features

-- High Performance and Speed: Jaz 2GB drives operate at a maximum
sustained transfer rate of up to 8.7 MB per second and have a
20MB per second burst transfer rate. With an average transfer
rate of 7.4MB per second, Jaz 2GB drives back up 2GB of
information in as little as 20 minutes. The drive has a minimum
transfer rate of 4.9MB per second, delivering a 10 millisecond
read/12 millisecond write average seek time, with a 512 kilobyte
read/write cache.

-- High-Capacity: A single Jaz 2GB disk can store: -- more than 3
hours of CD quality (44.1 kHz, 16 bit) audio; -- 111 minutes of
MPEG2 compressed DSS satellite quality video; and -- 2,000
pictures (640x480, 24 bit/pixel, full color).

-- Backward Compatibility: The original Jaz drive is emerging as the
high-end removable storage standard, with an installed base of
over 1 million drives that exceeds all competitive offerings
combined. Offering maximum flexibility, the original Jaz 1GB
disks are compatible with both the original Jaz drive and the new
Jaz 2GB drive.

-- Utility Software: Iomega's new Jaz Tools software includes
applications designed to easily organize, move and protect
information, including 'Tools,' 'Guest,' 'Copy Machine,'
'Find-It' and 'App Mover.'

single click of the mouse on the '1-step' icon will back up
crucial information onto a single Jaz disk while the user
continues working.

-- Compatibility with Other Industry Standards: Compatible with DOS,
Windows 3.X, Windows 95, Windows NT, MacOS 7.0 or higher,

IOM Has two new products shipping.

Jazz 2 on the trucks !!!!

Buzz On the Trucks !!!!

Bottom line... Iomega will sell more stuff.

Nomai Still looking down a leagal gun.

I'm thinking about all the stuff that was said about AOL when they lowered there prices allowing people to log on with unlimited time for a set price.

Lets see the stock dropped
People filed class action law suits
In general people thought AOL lost it's mind.
AOL has more competition than IOM.

Thinking to myself... Umm I own a few call options now (Very small amount of money) I think ill let them expire worthless before I sell them at a loss. I think there is a bigger up side to Iomega than down side Still.

I thinking next Q the Earnings will be better than people expect. I think bewteen now and then ill be able to back up the truck and buy some VERY UNDERVALUED stock cheep.

I think my options will expire worthless. I still will not sell them due to the fact I belive this stock is still undervalued. Ill keep the options as an edge in case people relize what the big picture really is before I back up the truck and load up once agean for an easy profit.

I think the hard part will be to pick the bottom. I'm going to buy more calls for March. Ill keep buying calls untell I back up the truck to buy the stock. I will buy the stock before Next Q report.

Buy when everyone else is selling, Sell when everyone else is buying.

Works for me : )
