Doug,

Came across this on the Yahoo thread (INVX) from an individual who allegedly works for 3M. It is interesting to see what he has to say about the flex circuits. I did edit part of his message, but here is the part pertaining to flex circuits:

<< BTW, in my time at 3M I have had opportunity to work on flex circuits. Not directly, but have helped those people down in
Austin with some of my technology. 3M is trying desparately to get in bed with SEG and INTC. 3M has great flex circuit technology, but my opinion is that 3M's culture is not well suited to fast paced business like electronics. That's one reason they spit out (oops, spun out) Imation and why IMN is doing poorly. They just don't have the culture to move with the speed you need in these high tech, 18 month product life cycle businesses.
3M does really well when they create new markets and then can dominate them. Post It for example. Or when they're in dinosaur speed industries like tapes and roofing granuales and their old line mentality marketing works.

My guess is that INVX will run circles around 3M and be on their 3rd generation flex circuits before 3M gets their 1st product out the door. >>

I wonder if the news about SEG and OAW (Optically Assisted Winchester) program in conjunction with Quinta will effect HTCH or INVX a year or two down the road?
