Bill, suprised to see you here. I'm actually long BTIM.

This stock is like playing with fire.

If you're not an MD, it's best to get opinions from others who are.

There's a lot of info on AOL MF threads, if you have access to. Would advise reading them before investing either way.

Company believes in itself. Has backing from Abbott and Montgomery Securities. Other relationships in the works.

Be careful with this one. Lots of misinformation out there.

Biotime's last rally on about 300k to 400k shares is actually quite good volume. Consider that 400k shares is about 4.5% of the total shares. Not exactly sure what the float is.

Any time someone makes a judgement on a stock move and calls the volume into question certain assumptions must be made. If BTIM had all 9M shares in the hands of content investors then the asking price is going to rule. As the MM must bring reasonable offers to the floor it is quite possible that the orders received over the last few days were simply driven by the seller's price while shorts covered and longs saw it as an opportunity. If you look at BTIM's trading history you will see that it moved from 2 to the 20's (pre split) on average volume of about 130k shares (post split).

From a technical standpoint I reiterate that 12 should be very strong support (as I did before the rally as well). For a long time 34-36 was strong resistance as sellers who bought in the teens liquidated their shares. Once BTIM blew past 40 and on to the 70's the large number of shares sold in the mid 30's (all pre split numbers here) were looking pretty dumb and looked for the opportunity to get back in if the corrective move took the price that low. I did what I could to get the ball rolling monday morning by placing a market order before the open. I picked up more shares at 12 5/8.

As for the superiority to hetastarch, the phase III trials showed better cardiac function (less elevated pulse) and less bleeding.
