I quote the charge of the trial "but the very pacifism with which Priest Burdin is trying to hide himself from accusations against him is not compatible with the actual teaching of Russian Orthodox Church, in particular, set out in the Fundamentals of the Social Concept. Pacifism in different epochs of church history was present in heretical doctrines — among gnostics, paulicians, bogomils, albigenses, tolstoyans - revealing, like other utopian ideologies, a connection with ancient Chiliasm". Also, church’s prosecution noted that Russian Orthodox church throughout its history "blessed soldiers to defend the motherland."
