Doing so would stop Russian aggression in a split second AND it would cause China to rethink their Taiwan strategy..

Why does the USA benefit by stopping Russian agression in Ukraine? If that war goes on for 30 years, with no benefit to Russia, that's pretty good for US interests. We can let Russia waste their time, life and money achieving nothing for decades.

But then America gets away with overthrowing the Ukrainian government in 2014. America will be emboldened and continue overthrowing governments.
