No I don't have either of those little toys. It was disheartening to me to see that DVD is not compatible with HDTV. What are they thinking of? Any way I think the PC arena will be strong. I just hope that LSI has a good number of OEMs lined up here. China is intriguing and should likely do well for them.

However LSI being one of the leaders here would I'm sure love to have faster acceptance of the DVD product since the longer it is delayed the more competitive the landscape is apt to be and the thinner their profit margins are apt to become. (stretching argument a bit too far!).

The DVD market in the non-PC arena is already an issue of betamax-VHS (right words). There are several "standards" out there. The issue is whether the damage inflicted thus far can be eventually overcome. You'd figure at some point those dozen competing manufacturers will get their act together. Letting the market decide will take time and cost LSI lost revenues.

On Kurlak: Listen to the opinions and disregard the rest - that's my motto. There really is not much point belaboring the ethics and insight of the guy. He's been around a long time and these guys have to constantly battle lots of conflict of interest situations.
