For argument's sake, let's assume DOJ offers one. What do you think they would settle for? Prison or house arrest, plus retirement from politics? That would leave him with 2 impending indictments and no bargaining power.
I'm not sure what the DOJ would settle for. That depends on how much they hate Trump vs. how much they want to avoid this looking like a political hit job.

If I were Trump's lawyer, however, I would settle for enough to send a message, but not enough to force him out of politics.

My starting point for a deal would be a three month stint in white collar prison or house arrest, plus a fine. Then I'd accept anything up to 6 months plus a fine somewhere in the 8-9 digits.

Trump wouldn't be happy with the deal, but as long as his punishment is much lighter than that of the Jack Teixeira, the Call of Duty n00b, he should feel fortunate.
