robert. this is a remarkable thread...you, scott, terry, and so many others offer consistently worthwhile and creative ideas, beyond the obvious diligence in research et al. just a valentine's day message to all in appreciation: i always learn something here. thank you for that... your point is a solid one...( did zenith coin solid state, i wonder ) and it reminds me of goldstar, but i am not sure what their parent company is....samsung maybe? or panasonic... anyway, i think that it makes great marketing sense to capitalize on the relative importance of quality and value, under the umbrella of brand name status and its role in domestic vs foreign consumerism. without diluting the product line, you may then have something for (almost) everyone.
