I think P. Munk means that they have large silver reserves which are associated with their gold reserves, but to them it has just been a sideline. They may begin to take it more seriously now, with the higher price. This could weigh in favour of PFG, however we shouldn't forget that Barrick have until 2000 to make a production decision - this isn't to say they won't make one sooner.

As regards some of the previous comments about Warren Buffett and silver, I very much doubt if he is in it for a quick flip. His whole investment philosophy is based on the 'buy and hold' concept, unlike George Soros, for example. It might seriously hurt his credibility, with his Berkshire Hathaway shareholders, if he is seen to be a market manipulator. I am going on his track record and published statements, he could have changed, but doesn't seem the type somehow.
