You are right that there is not a lot of upside in shorting a $2 stock unless you firmly believe it has 0 chance of survival (i.e. a company in bankruptcy with a confirmed plan stipulating nothing for equity holders)

Syquest shares are kind of like "trading sardines" instead of "eating sardines" i.e. the share price is based on speculation and momentum rather than fundamental value. Still, Mr. Pink has been short since the mid teens and will remain so until they inevitably file or issue another billion shares. Why pay the taxes on such a juicy gain?

Probably wouldn't get in now would rather short ACRT which has more immediate potential to collapse.

Best wishes,

Mr. Pink
