Jack: If the money refuses to leave the market, then it will tend to redistribute to new opportunities. Where does it have to go? Microcaps and international stocks. Bonds and preferreds. Value funds.
Mexico and Chile are in terrible bear markets, they are in despair that volume is whisper-thin. Could be the time to buy these. Stocks with tremendous yields can be found in Australia and South Africa. The developing countries with stable legal systems are good bets. I'm nibbling anywhere I can find an 8% or higher yield with little downside risk, these are the areas I find attractive. I found a yahoo url (posted on the kahuna thread) with a wonderful collection of interesting closed-end funds.
The odd thing about this mania is that things not capable of giving a 30% a year return are undervalued. :-)
