Really? You know it's been legal to do that since '16?
Bullshit. Possessing even small quantities of illegal narcotics like fentanyl is illegal.

And yet, it's all over San Francisco and San Jose. Police are told not to enforce basic laws except in circumstances where the public is in imminent danger.

So no, arrests for simple possession hardly ever occur anymore.

As for arrests for marijuana possession in states where it's still illegal, similar standards apply. Police simply do not have the resources to arrest every single possessor of marijuana. The ones who do get arrested are often in situations where they are posing a threat or a nuisance to the public.
