Back in the day I used to go to downtown Seattle all the time, it was mostly a safe and fun place to go. My buddy and I stopped in Seattle after a weekend at SIR. We went to a bar on Pike street, while he went to the washroom a cop came up to me and asked if I had ever been in jail. I said no, his reply " well everyone else in this bar has been in jail and If I were you I would get the hell out of here" We took his advice. A Washington State twitter friend tells me downtown Seattle today is a mess, dirty, not a safe to go anymore. too bad, I had some great times there, some good stories to tell.
