The mainstream media is designating yet another right-wing activist group as "hateful" or "extremist" or "anti-government." All because the SPLC said so. So let's look at what makes Moms for Liberty so "hateful", "extremist", or "anti-government" ... Why Moms for Liberty was designated an ‘extremist’ group by the Southern Poverty Law Center (msn.com) - "Anti-student-inclusion." WTF does that mean? Why not just accuse them of being "pro-student-exclusion"? Because they know that's bullshit. Because they can't prove that Moms for Liberty wants to exclude anyone. Instead, it's more convincing to accuse them of being "anti-inclusion" just because they don't support the "woke" definition of "inclusion.," - "Anti-COVID-19 mandates." I'm on the side of COVID-19 mandates, but to label anyone who is against them as "anti-government" is just bat-shit crazy. Being against the mandates doesn't mean being part of the Q. It just means they don't think the risk of COVID-19 is worth what they perceive to be draconian measures. - Support for the abolition of the federal Department of Education. So what? Should the federal government be involved this closely in public schooling? Or is this better served at the state and local level? There is room for disagreement, but not according to the leftards at the SPLC. - Opposing the replacement of the word "mother" with "birthing person." OMG, what extremism!!! How DARE they oppose the phrase "birthing person"!!! Such hatefulness!!! - Opposition to Critical Race Theory. Again, what makes this such an "extremist" position? CRT is indeed a toxic agenda. It's better discussed in universities than used in the indoctrination of grade schoolers. - Support for book bans at public libraries, where the banned books happen to be more pro-LGBBQ+ and more "non-White." This is a flat-out distortion meant to make the group sound bigoted. Most of the books I've seen on the "ban" list do indeed contain themes that, quite frankly, are not appropriate for elementary and middle schoolers. They also happen to be left-wing in nature, so yeah, they're going to be pro-LGBBQ+ and "non-White." Again, the political left is hijacking the whole "anti-bigot" agenda and labeling anyone who opposes them as "bigots." And yet, with the SPLC's labeling, they are associating Moms for Liberty with neo-Nazis and white supremacists. From the article:Local Moms for Liberty chapters — Pennsylvania has the second-largest Moms for Liberty presence nationally, according to the group — appear on the SPLC’s “Hate Map” alongside neo-Nazi groups, like the National Socialist Movement, and white nationalist groups, like the Patriot Front. But hey, I like to thank the SPLC for labeling Moms for Liberty with such a high honor. Among other things, it got me to look closer at their agenda. And now I know that Moms for Liberty might be an organization worth supporting. (Though I hope they don't go too far down the anti-vax path.) Tenchusatsu
