I agree, the writing is so good, Lancashire must have been in heaven acting out her scenes. I loved how in some of them she didn't even say a word but still conveyed so much. And all those characters, all flawed in their own ways, with even the villain revealing a side that was not so villainous, with nary a caricature or cliche in sight. Edit: I agree, a prequel would certainly be possible, though presumably that means they wouldn't be able to cast Lancashire or any of the other actors because they would be too old to play the younger version of their characters.
