$1 Trillion And 50 Years Later, Is The DEA's War On Drugs A Failure? Duh! TOTAL COMPLETE FAILURE. Of course. You cannot fuck with the law of Supply and Demand. Eliminate supply and the price and profits go up. DUH! Gigantic bureaucracy with no skills and no accomplishments. And it started 100 years ago not 50. Its far more than a trillion if you count extra courts, court reporters, expensive prosecutors, judges, pensions, benefits, guards, janitors, PDs, prisons... the BIGGEST union in California is the prison guard union. Just imagine if they put all the hippies who built the personal computer/software business in SF Bay area in prison... we'd be fucked economically.
