Once upon a time, being young, geological time and geopolitical processes seemed not quite eternal, but so lengthy as to be permanent. Now, being aged, geopolitical processes are like quicksilver, and mountains erode, peneplains flood and glaciers shrivel before my eyes. So the Great and Glorious British Empire fizzled and failed into a rump remnant of squabbling provinces [Scotland, Ireland, Wales, England] which have been conquered by Islamic Jihad and dissolved into welfare economic failure. China has gone from a commie "power grows from the barrel of a gun" poverty stricken mass murder and mass starvation horrible hutong trench toilet to maglev, electric car, rocketry, quantum computing civilized state albeit terribly totalitarian with Peak People a done deal. USSR has gone from huge, totalitarian, powerful, number 2 in the world to a rump middling state of 150 million which in some ways is much more civilized than England and USA. Our illustrious hero Ed Snowden has defected to Russia to enjoy freedom having exposed criminal totalitarians in charge of USA. Aotearoa-Zimbabwe has gone from number 3 in GDP per capita when it was New Zealand to a murderous nasty little welfare Big Brother third world impoverished place from which the productive flee while criminals roam the streets unimpeded and an apartheid Master Race is established to more rapidly destroy what's left in tribal dog eat dog and devil take the hindmost bludgerism and kleptocracy. It was 35 years ago that people would say China was a century behind. I explained that anywhere is only 20 years behind because a new born baby doesn't start with inventing the wheel and using twisted pair telecommunications, valve radios and horse and cart.. They adopt what's best available. and are not bound by bygone ideology. So China adopted Qualcomm's amazing inventions and went in a single step to high speed low cost mobile Cyberspace with quantum computing being overlaid. Hey presto world leaders. USA meanwhile went backwards rapidly from being the country with world-record surpluses [like England in the 19th century], capitalism and VVVs, to McCain's Bomb Bomb Bomb, Bomb Bomb Iran" and Hillary's "We came, we saw, he died ... cackle cackle cackle". Now USA is being over-run with third worlders who will NOT MAGA. It seems quite likely that we'll go for the biggest event ever = MAD and a population reduction of 90% or maybe 95% as systems collapse and subsistence survival results. 200 years ago, people were adapted for subsistence rural agricultural and hunter-gatherer survival. Now we're not, so we could overshoot to the downside. Americans seem to think they can win a nuclear war and run a PNAC. Hopefully the sensible, such as Tulsi, Colonel MacGregor, Elon Musk, Me, John Mearshimer, Donald Trump, Jeffrey Sachs etc will prevail. Unfortunately, the electorate is stupid, venal, greedy, lazy and lack VVVs. Anything can happen and probably will. China certainly has shown what can be achieved with VVVs. Unfortunately, their megalomania is showing. Disposal of Hu Jintao showed the lack. Emperor Pooh Xi forcibly removing said respected elder, while the frightened rows stared fixedly ahead. That's how Saddam Hussein's rows behaved, keeping their hands on the table, hoping they aren't next. That's how Kim the Fatter keeps his slaves in subjugation - he's the world champion, making Saddam look like a sissy and Emperor Pooh Xi look kindly. John Stuart Mill remains a better guide. John Milton too. Ah for Jolly Olde Englande [though the Tower of London exhibits made Kim the Fatter look like a sissy]. Switzerland, Hong Kong when British, Luxembourg, Iceland, Singapore have shown good VVVs. I do not any longer include Sweden. Maybe Donald can MAGA and people will go along with it. I'd quite like Vivek Ramaswamy = a product of the Great and Glorious British Empire. A double banger = Trump with Vivek as Vice President would be excellent. Donald is elderly but with great sagacity and would be an excellent trainer for Vivek to take over when Donald's time is up or he conks out. Neither wants WWIII. China lacks the humanity of the free world. USA got a new lease on life after Japan bombed out in 1990. Cyberspace launched USA into another new era of glory. USA could do it again.
