It seems so silly-you might as well spring for one of the many beautiful books the gift shops offer. I got one from the Louvre, since we missed so much of the museum when they wouldn't let us back in that stupid door.
Do people ever look at the pictures they take on vacation? We don't take pictures. I'll probably really regret this in later years, but I tend to enjoy present moments so much I don't like to think about them being past-- If that made ANY sense at all. And if I do take a picture I want people in it. Forget scenery-those I KNOW I'd never look at again.
My mother-in-law records every year in a separate album- artistically, carefully. All their trips, and hotels, my father-in-law for a while recorded the meals they ate in a little notebook. I thought that was really scary. EVen if you looked at your books, who else would want to? Is that what you do with your life in the 70s and 80s? Relive it--? God-I hope I'm still adding memories...
Jeez-you can tell the birthday's coming, can't you.
Reminds me--I'm subtracting another year today. Countdown continues.
