I wouldn't go that far. They did manipulate one of the primaries in 2016 for Hillary over Bernie. In 2020, they made a deal with the rest of the Democrat challengers to withdraw early on to support Biden. Turned out to be a wise decision with the Left getting compensated accordingly. That is to say, Biden has been very receptive to most of the Left's agenda.

Is the RNC any different? They set most of the agenda and the candidate either conforms to policy initiatives or they get no support and endorsement.

I am a big fan of Trump. Trump is the best friend the Left has ever had. USA is center/right. But given Trump's anger and insulting issues, he has driven away most independent voters and some moderate conservatives into the Dem camp..This has happened in AZ and GA. If the Republicans nominated a moderate business conservative, the Left wouldn't stand a chance.
