Dear Diary. I feared that this week would come but not so soon, hoping that Europe would catch at least a few years break in between deadly heatwaves. No such luck. Back in 2003 we saw a catastrophic CAT5 heatwave across all of Europe, which killed about 70,000 people:

I peg a heatwave as falling into my top Category 5 ranking if it kills more than 1,000 people.
