Jack -

No -- actually it's as in "more or les."

I agree with you that you become a real pain when you go around correcting people in their grammar or spelling. There are more important things in life! Especially when some of the worst offenders are coming up with dynamite investment advice.

In any event, I suppose the fault really lies (lays??) in the declining standards in our schools. I'm a former university professor (Marketing), and I pretty much gave up a long time ago on correcting for spelling (or grammar, or sentence construction, or ...). I have a great collection in my archives from students about to receive their M.B.A. (e.g., "He was a poor sellsman").

I have been lurking on this thread for some months and know that it attracts some very bright people who would put me to shame in these very same respects.

It's a fun forum -- a nice change of pace --and I hope to jump in from time to time.

Regards,

Les

A little help from the thread, please.

I use to ask stupid questions. Or, did I used to ask?

I'm not sure of the tense, much less the true meaning.

Oh, and I'm asking for a friend, of course. We don't have a problem with it in Texas.... we yoosta, but not no more.

I could just eliminate from my vocabulary, but I refuse to until the Reverend Jesse Jackson remains mute on moot.
