Stanford president to resign over concerns about integrity
Shoddy practices in writing research papers are all too prevalent. The focus for researchers is on quantity over quality. The more papers are published, the greater your standing. Doesn't matter if your research is flawed or arrives at conclusions that can't be reproduced.

Hence I'm surprised that the president of freakin' Stanford is resigning over these concerns. He could have easily weathered the controversy.

Either he stepped down because he's religious about integrity, or there's something else.
