Data points so far from MU, CRUS, ASML and TSM suggest that end user demand for chips are down in most sectors except for AI. F discount on cars and TSLA guidance on discounts to drive demand suggest automotive demand may be moderating. MU suggest automotive demand was still strong but it may be a lagging indicator as opposed to something to drive forward guidance.

No idea how this affects cap ex except to say ASML and TSM are guiding to delays in Fab build outs due to lack of trained staff to handle it. Remember INTC had to scrape a complete Fab because they could not get the yield they wanted so the new generation of Fabs are tough to build. That was a 5 nm Fab. The new ones are as small as 2 nm I believe.

The need to testing equipment may be pushed out as a result.

I am not sure which other semi equip companies report before COHU.
