Practising for ballet is work because people pay to watch ballet and it sure is hard work to get good enough to be watched by paying people. 99.9% of people give up before they earn their living from it. Even though the job is enjoyable, time off on Sundays to play is surely taken.

I recall Mike Tyson saying he went for long early runs and thinking [he said] that the other guys are lazy in bed and every bit more he does gives him an advantage. That's work.

Work gives identity in the battle against entropy and the hungry Cosmos.

Words from my mother in law several decades ago [she had many proverbs and ideas] =
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
All play and no work makes Jack a trifling toy.

"Accomplished ballet dancer = no mean feat" but certainly sore feet [those pointy toes according to our daughters are tough on the tips of one's feet].

The coconut is fun but gad, she works sooooo much.
Lucky she enjoys work.

Am in Turkey with the brood and checked out the Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, Spice Market, the Cistern, etc etc, and now on the coast to check out Ephesus tomorrow.

Whilst wandering around the Grand Bazaar and watching the girls shop for bags in a secret shop amongst the nooks and crannies, we ran into a helpful soul, and the Coconut recognized the character, accosted him, who then proceeded to teach her about bags. The event was instructive, hilarious, and helpful.

Sam Brodie en.m.wikipedia.org is a character and a kind soul, hilarious, wonderful.
He shall play lead in season 2 of “Good Omens”

Sam is fun imdb.com

Re <<the Coconut cannot possibly be a complete fun hog>> … turning out that you were correct.

Summer ending, interns work done, nearly time for school again, and the Coconut doing okay, now looking for on-campus work for the coming semester as she did last school year. I ask, “what for?” and she replied, “so I can have some more of my own money”. I do not know how she can tell the difference once funds in her account but apparently she can keep track.
