Insider selling by CEO: He just sold a few tens of thousands of shares on Jan 30. Guess that means there are no takeovers on the horizon.

Joseph,

We went through this analysis in considerable detail after the last insider-selling period (November 1997). Actually, insider selling often precedes an acquisition, as that is the last chance for these insiders to generate some liquidity for a time.

As proof, just before the ASND/CSCC merger in 1997, there was a great amount of insider selling by both ASND and CSCC management. In fact, far, far more selling than has occurred so far in February. I would expect to see more insider selling as February progresses, but it means nothing, to me, in terms of precluding or, absent other clues, suggesting an acquisition.
