ED:
<<< Just tell me why and how that DELL could surpass CPQ by year 2000 ?>>>
Present market cap, CPQ=53 bil, Dell 36 bil
Price increase in Dell last year =200 %
If continues for 3 years, market cap= 972 bil
(not too realistic)

Earnings increase for 9 months period ( from last annual report)
equals 100 %
If continues at lesser rate of only 100 % a year, market cap
becomes 288 bil in 3 years
Sales increase of 60 % for 9 months from last report , if continues at lesser rate of 50% a year for 3 years equals 122 bil
Now cpq, having a much greater market share in many areas,
will have much greater difficulty in growing at Dells rate, and will have to more than double their sales and earnings
to keep up with Dell.
So who is chasing who here????

re just tell me how and why Dell could surpass Cpq

I dont know! That was why I asked the question! MD wants to grow bigger and bigger, I know that, but year 2000? That sounds far away but is only a couple of years now. But do we know if it is possible? Do we ever know in this tech field what is possible?
