It is pretty obvious now that Client has been crushingly competitive over the last 12 months. With demand falling off a cliff, there just hasn't been enough unit volume to go around. Meanwhile, Pat Gelsinger seems to have let go of any margin targets and given his sales force free range to secure volume for the fabs — which clearly is his main priority.

I wish somebody would ask Lisa how the mismanagement of the Client business was allowed to take place. It's as if AMD rolled over and played dead when Intel went about with their usual underhanded business practices, let Intel get away with it.
Governments, global tensions, the big picture guys with brass butts can exert quite some gravity. I think there is a lot of tension about ITF succeeding and any alternative. So, a wink or nod, one hand washes the other. Some would call it a conspiracy. Heck, I think that is happening all the time, with varying degrees of effectiveness. Level playing field, ha.
