Sounds to me more like "Thanks Borland for endorsing Microsoft". Borland has always endorsed MS by writing to DOS and Win platform, yet never got any credit for it. In my 13 years of using BI compilers, I have never seen a MS product manager endorsed, much less acknowledged a BI product rollout! It's against their rules, you know. Even as recent as '96 when they used a fictitious name 'Buck Forland' (reverse the B and the F) in the rollout of their VB4. Rumor had that they posted a 'Death to Borland' sign in front of their language lab a few years back. Or how about the 'Death Borlander Society' recruitment effort that netted Gross, Anders and several others. Maybe it's just my imagination, but when's the last time you saw MS thanks their competitors? :-)
