How brainwashed and stupid was the average Confederate soldier willing to lose a leg or his dick in a war to preserve a class system where HE worked his ass off when the lazy upper class didn't? The ONLY consolation these dummies had was blacks were worse off. How dumb is that to preserve a system where you are on the second lowest rung of the ladder only because others are on the lowest rung? Good example of a cultural brainwashing people, and the sociopathic aristocracy that didn't work well knew what they were doing bullshitting about the great and elegant southern culture. These southern soldiers would have been far better off generally in a meritocracy in the North than the ridgid aristocracy of the south.
