Woke up to troubling thoughts.

Would the Fitch downgrade of the US have taken place if we had considered the Ukraine conflict a local affair to be resolved locally instead of an affair that affected our national interests? And if the downgrade would not have taken place if we had acted more circumspectly in Ukraine, what effect would our participation in the conflict have on any subsequent financial crisis?

Can a causal link exist between our support of Ukraine and any upcoming financial difficulties?
