"and significant economies of scale and leverage inherent in the segment's business model."

Let's not forget this key element. The Rocket Ship Theory?

Computers cost just about as much to run flat out cranking transactions, Electricity & Staff, as they do if they were just all turned on sitting idle doing nothing.

I say the 6 months number in 1996, included six months of fixed overhead of having the system up right? Well they processed the same amount of Transactional Revenue Dollars in 1/2 the time. Did they have to double their fixed costs to do this....doubt it. SCALE AND LEVERAGE INHERENT IN THE SEGMENT'S BUSINESS MODEL.

Couple other observations. 1) coming in with 200k in losses over a 3 month period.......tells me sometime in December of 1997 the CheckFree Processing Engine finally hit the volume required to meet fixed & variable overhead of the system. That sucker is making money, and makes more money for every new customer they throw at it. 2) It's running in the BLACK running in one direction, BILL PAY! Throw 1, 2, 3, or 4 Bills digitally delivered to each of the 2.2 Million existing Customers into the equation. Then you are looking at 2, 4, 6 or 8 Million a Quarter from the same base presenting bills to them. 3) We are not even to Genesis yet, that's going to lower costs further. Kinda like trading in the Car you bought in 1972, for a more fuel efficient car. Lowered your per milage costs significantly! Genesis is being built for what, 30% of the US households?

You know looking a those positives going foward....a guy could argue future revenues of $'s per share....and a guy could argue the case the other way.....since this is a new service in a new market.

But when my Wife said asked, "what are you going to get me for Valentines".........I said whatever you want.....within reason......but I want some more CheckFree. She said, "I was thinking we should get some for the kids too."

Just gotta buy it, she making me! TWIST MY ARM!

BTW there was one more thing....those Integrion Banks...wait till they come on line. Volume Explosion, met head-on with Genesis Cost Reductions. My bet is this thing is Trading at 10 to 20 Times what is already in the 'Pipe', future events, and at sane levels.

If this ever gets to being valued on future expectations like an Excite or a Yahoo you will never see these levels again. I threw my saddle on the Excite Pony at $10 last year, this ride could be even better.
