Good chance because of a Nasdaq Level II screen. On a Level II screen, you can see what Market Makers see and use. U can see what prices the Market Makers are willing to buy or sell. What orders are executed, at what prices...

Few people, especially professional traders, on this thread and others have the fine priviledge of looking at that screen all day, so they probably have a best answer for your question on EXACTLY how it works.

Fenton, do you have one of those?
