Jyoti sharma: I have started investing in the Phillipines and I am curious about PHI. What do they do? Is it a company or a fund? I bought Security Bank of Phillipines (SECB) last month. They are a stable bank with a 20% yield and are selling at 4 times earnings. A friend of mine is from the Phillipines and had good things to say about this bank. Does your friend know anything about this bank?

This thread is one of my favorites. I agree with George Cole and others about probable long-term fallout from a military attack on Iraq. I hope that the U.S. sailors have been innoculated against Anthrax since Sadam Husein has drones equiped with this agent. I am also very concerned about any pilots who get shot down.

I have also started buying Citicorp Leap-Puts (strike price 115 expiration date 1/16/99) again. They have traded in a range of 6 3/4 to 13 over the past 4 mos. I suspect that their next quarter will be difficult to make, since they used a lot of special one time gains the last quarter to make estimated earnings.

Terry,
