Bonnie,

Chances of Muslim Indonesia joining forces with Iraq are zero. Even other Muslim countries are no fans of Iraq. The impact on US markets IMHO will be negative. What's your opinion.

Other Iraq "difficulties"...

What if he just buried the vials of nerve gas out in the desert? You can take over the whole country and not find it.

What if he says, just before the planes fly in to bomb, that he has a few bombs in the US and so beware, if you start bombing my country, I'll start bombing yours.

And so there are basically only three scenarios: (1) War is avoided at the last minute as inspectors are allowed in; (2) We go to war and it's just like last time, news every day of military success; (3) We go to war and suddenly something looks bad, e.g., other countries join Iraq, a bomb goes off in the US, etc.

Since this is a financial forum, I would be interested in hearing people's opinions on what effect these scenarios might have on various sectors of the market.
