It depends on what we define as "trouble". They are probably in some just on the basics. If things are not anywhere near what they say, then the are definitely in trouble. I don't think anyone knows for sure. Hence, the stabilized stock on Friday. I mean, even if the test doesn't get anywhere near the MPG they wanted, but it did provide enough advantage for a competitor to gain a big plus in the market, then they will be a success dispite the fact they didn't live up to their
"promised" result. Remember, FORD is spending 1/2 of ALL their R&D on the hybrid. Toyota will be selling their hybrid cars here at
$20,000 discount, just to get their foot in the door. With this kind of desperation do you think they would pass up an upportunity to get lets say another 10 MPG advantage over the competition.??? It looks like the whole hybrid race is for better MPG. Thats it... Better MPG.
They will do ANYTHING to increase it. Whats $50million to a car copany that deals in the billions. Just my opinion.
