I've known people who were alcoholics and drug users, some quit, some died, some still around. I saw a beautiful little girl who was the best friend of my Daughter turn to drugs when she got older. she was spoiled rotten by her mom, the dad could not say anything or the wife and his two daughters turned on him. He has given up on her going to rehab, she and my Daughter are no longer friends. I have sympathy for the Dad not the daughter, we knew she was trouble when she was a little girl, we didn't want our daughter hanging around her but we kept our mouths shut. I educated my Daughters about drug use and they have turned out fine young women. this is getting a bit long. a long time alcoholic friend committed suicide, he tried rehab but all he got out of it was more drinking buddies. A long time friend who took every drug known in the 70's I thought would end up on skid row. he quit and Joined the Canadian Coast guard. we just lost him yesterday from liver cancer, 71 years old. He was told to quit drinking a few years ago but could not. before he passed two long time buddies and I went to see him, he looked awful and could barely talk.
